1
Extensive Education & Experience
I have a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in Indigenous People’s Law, and over 30 years of corporate legal experience. I have served as an officer on both the Board of Directors for the Bishop Paiute Development Corporation and the Owens Valley Paiute-Shoshone Board of Trustees. Each of these organizations has given me a unique insight into the social and economic issues facing our Tribe today.
2
Strong Leadership & Professionalism
I possess unique skill sets that I will draw upon if re-elected. For example, I bring an elder’s perspective on issues brought before the Council. I respect all members of the community, from the youngest to the oldest. I am a thoughtful and informed decision-maker. I don’t shoot from the hip or talk over tribal members in meetings. I listen carefully to what people are saying and, just as importantly, to what they are not saying.
3
Longstanding Ethics & Integrity
I am extremely detail-oriented and understand the nuances of our numerous business deals, which require someone with my experience to effectively negotiate and ensure we are engaging in favorable agreements. I have the courage to confront obstacles, I am not intimidated, nor am I afraid to ask the hard questions and will always keep our people's best interests in mind. I take ethical behavior personal and will never compromise my integrity or that of the Tribe.
